The Maritime Overshirt - Ticking Stripe
In the 1930's Yarmouth Stores carried a range of ‘singlets and shirts’ from the 'Cruising Shirt, the Sports Shirt and the Tunic Shirt in latest designs'. The Maritime Shirt takes inspiration from the original Flannel Army Shirts featured in the 1930 catalogue.
The Maritime Overshirt in ticking uses a 310gsm 100% cotton yarn dyed indigo and ecru twill stripe.
The styling references the heavy sailor’s shirts that were historically worn layered for warmth as protection from the bracing North Sea winds. It has two generous buttoned chest pockets , and two vertical side hip pockets. The collar is a neat rounded shape. Our glossy, black corozo buttons contrast beautifully on this beautiful stripe There are four stitched under arm eyelets for ventilation.
