The Sou'wester Bucket Hat - Natural
The Sou'wester Hat is a traditional form of collapsible oilskin rain hat, cut longer at the back than the front, protecting the neck from rain. The derivation of the name relates to the prevailing Sou'westerly wind at sea around the UK. Historically Sou'westers were a core piece in the Yarmouth Oilskins collection. The Sou'wester Bucket hat is a nod to our archive, yet reinterpreted for today .
We've re-worked the Sou'wester keeping same aesthetic as the original, but in 100% cotton twill to create a bucket hat for wearing on sunny days. Each row of stitching on the brim is sewn individually by hand. The crown is fully lined.
The hat is fully washable , and will develop it's own unique patina with every wash and wear, getting better with age. The Sou'wester Bucket hat is not waterproof. Made in Great Yarmouth, Great Britain
