The Admiralty Shirt is an ideal travel companion, the cotton linen mix is hard wearing whilst always looking good (no need for the travel iron). Dress it up or down effortlessly. Also available in white.
Taking inspiration from the traditional Grandfather collar shirt - originally worn by workers, farmers and factory hands during the 1920's and 30's. The story goes that since these trades didn’t wear a tie for fear of it getting stuck in the machinery, as a result they adopted a shirt with a simple band collar. The original Admiralty Shirt features in our 1930s catalogue "as supplied to H.M. Government"
We use a yarn dyed twill weave cloth ,which is a cotton - linen blend. The linen gives the fabric a great rumpled appearance with the occasional slub which gets even better when it’s washed and worn. The style is collarless with a narrow stand collar band, and a half front placket. We have used natural Corozo buttons also made in England.
