The Maritime Overshirt is a substantial overshirt with a Peter Pan style collar. As with everything in our collection it makes the perfect mid or top layer depending on the time of day and can be dressed up or down.

This edition is made using our classic natural twill for the all year wear. Pre-washed to give that lived in look and feel. 

In the 1930's Yarmouth Stores carried a range of ‘singlets and shirts’ from the 'Cruising Shirt, the Sports Shirt and the Tunic Shirt in latest designs'. The Maritime Shirt takes inspiration from the original Flannel Army Shirts featured in the 1930 catalogue.

The styling references the heavy sailor’s shirts that were historically worn layered for warmth as protection from the bracing North Sea winds. It has two generous buttoned chest pockets , and two vertical side hip pockets. The collar is a neat rounded shape. Our glossy, black corozo buttons contrast beautifully against this unbleached fabric. There are four stitched under arm eyelets for ventilation.
