The Travelling Mac is for everyday pursuits wherever life takes you. Historically, Yarmouth Oilskins products were functional innovations created over the decades to handle the demands of the times. The Travelling Mac is our response to today; a unisex hybrid Mac that is minimal, lightweight, packs away easily and designed for busy lives that hop between the city, the countryside and everything in between.

The 100% organic ripstop cotton wax outer is a new innovative wax that has a papery finish that will soften over time.

Handmade entirely in our factory in Great Yarmouth, Great Britain.

Yarmouth Stores have manufactured Oilskin clothing for well over 100 years. Originally oilskin dressing was applied by hand to cotton calico in-house in our factory in Great Yarmouth. It’s documented that in 1953 the factory would produce around 2000 oilskin garments per week.

The Travelling Mac is a new innovation; an answer to what lie throws at you today. All of our products have always been a functional solution to the weather and our surroundings. We continue to develop new products using all of our know-how and experience from the past century.

The fabric has an acrylic and pigment coating which gives a semi-tech papery handle on 100% organic-cotton micro ripstop, from Halley Stevensons.

The reverse side of the fabric is in a contrast tonal colour which adds interest to the unlined garment.

Heavy gauge tonal moulded 2-way zip.

Concealed popper fastening on storm flap and adjustable cuffs.

Traditional storm cape for added weather resistance on shoulders.

Hanging loop in back neck.

2 x 3D concealed opening pockets on chest.

Deep lower pockets with storm guard entry.

3 part hood with multi stitched peak.

Long line coat with back vent.

We advise not to wash the Travelling Mac but to allow it to air naturally, and develop its own natural patina over time. Any serious marks should be spot cleaned. We also advise lightly misting the inside of the garment with our Garment Refresher to keep it fresh.

It’s waxed properties can be rejuvenated over time with the Wax Spray we sell.
